Gradual are Darren Trott, Brian Baker. Tanya Cavanaugh and Kevin Hunt. Gradual takes the melodic genius of Crowded House, the fury of Midnight Oil, the pub rock conviction of Matt Finish and the vocal arrangements of The Beatles, and then distills and channels these influences into it's own unique sound. Gradual songs tell stories we can all relate to, in the true tradition of classic Australian rock, but with a fresh perspective.
The band’s debut EP release, “For Love” has been widely acclaimed and provides a taste of what is to come, with the band has released its first single of 2018, "Open Up Your Heart" with more single releases to follow throughout the year.
Gradual’s live performances include sharing the stage with Mental As Anything, appearing at the Aireys Inlet Music Festival, The Basin Festival, Belgrave’s End of the Line Festival, SS&A Club in Albury supporting Shannon Noll and Taxiride among others, close to home House Concerts and numerous Melbourne pub gigs such as The Inkerman Hotel in St Kilda, The Great Britain Hotel in Richmond and the Piping Hot Chicken Shop in Ocean Grove, where the band proves, beyond any doubt, that the good old days of classic Australian rock are far from over.
If the recipe for a great act to experience includes hook laden songs, masterful playing and intense live performances then you've just found a new band to provide a fresh soundtrack to your life.
